ClearBridge exited its position in ENSG after reduced visibility from regulatory and short-seller concerns impacted the stock.

The Ensign Group (NASDAQ:ENSG) closed at $168.59 on July 10, 2026, reflecting an 11.86% one-month decline amid regulatory and short-seller-related headwinds. The healthcare services provider, with a $9.85 billion market capitalization, saw its shares rise 15.67% over the past 52 weeks but faced recent pressure.

ClearBridge SMID Cap Growth Strategy cited reduced visibility as the reason for exiting its ENSG position in its Q2 2026 investor letter. The firm noted that weakness in healthcare provider stocks offset gains in biotechnology and life sciences tools holdings. Hedge fund ownership of ENSG increased to 37 portfolios in Q1 2026 from 35 in the prior quarter.
