Rocket Lab reports 63.5% revenue growth to $200.3 million and a $2.2 billion backlog ahead of SpaceX’s Nasdaq-100 inclusion.
Rocket Lab posted first-quarter revenue of $200.3 million, up 63.5% year over year, with a GAAP gross margin of 38.2%. The company’s backlog rose 20.2% sequentially to $2.2 billion, supported by 31 new contracts for its Electron and HASTE rockets and five for its under-development Neutron rocket.
SpaceX is set to join the Nasdaq-100 on July 7, though its initial index weight is estimated below 1%. Rocket Lab’s 70 contracted launches and execution milestones position it as a key player in the satellite and defense launch markets amid growing investor interest in space stocks.
While SpaceX’s IPO has drawn attention to the sector, Rocket Lab’s financial performance and contract growth highlight its standalone potential in the space industry.
