UBS lowered its price target for CME Group shares by 16% citing weaker June trading data and rising competition.

UBS analyst Alex Kramm reduced CME Group’s price target from $310 to $260 while maintaining a Hold rating. The revision follows weaker-than-expected June trading volumes, particularly in interest rate and energy contracts, which may pressure transaction revenue despite year-over-year growth in activity.

Kramm noted that while businesses like IRS clearing and BrokerTec remain strong, competition from perpetual futures and regulatory risks could limit further volume expansion. Barclays, however, maintained its Hold rating with a $316 target, highlighting analyst divergence on CME’s outlook.

The $260 target still implies a 10% upside from current levels, reflecting cautious optimism amid mixed performance trends.
