Settlement mandates Deere provide farmers and independent repair shops access to diagnostic tools for a decade.

Deere agreed to settle a lawsuit filed by the Federal Trade Commission and five U.S. states over allegations it restricted equipment repairs to authorized dealers. The settlement requires Deere to grant farmers and independent repair providers access to the same diagnostic and repair resources as its dealers for 10 years, with new tools shared once 50% of dealers receive them.

The company will also direct dealers to supply these resources to third parties and pay $1 million to cover legal fees for the states. Deere did not admit wrongdoing in the settlement, which follows a $99 million agreement in April to resolve related class-action litigation. The lawsuit, initiated on January 15, 2025, was part of broader efforts to address anti-competitive practices in agriculture.

Deere stated the settlement aligns with its existing commitment to expand repair access and flexibility for customers.
