JPMorgan Chase has launched a dedicated dealmaking team for small-cap companies valued at $100 million to $500 million. The initiative aims to capture a segment of the market currently underserved by its existing middle-market group, which focuses on firms valued between $500 million and $1 billion.

The new unit will operate in key U.S. cities, including New York and Los Angeles, and prioritize sectors such as consumer, retail, and business services. It will leverage JPMorgan’s commercial and private banking relationships to source deals, led by veteran banker Michael Flynn.

This move aligns with broader industry efforts to diversify revenue streams amid a surge in capital markets activity and reduced regulatory constraints. JPMorgan remains a dominant player in large-scale mergers but seeks growth in smaller transactions.
