Deal nearly triples Ceva Logistics’ North American contract logistics footprint and includes multi-year air and ocean freight agreements.
CMA CGM Group will acquire FedEx Supply Chain for $1.4 billion in enterprise value, expanding its logistics operations. The transaction, set to close later this year, will boost Ceva Logistics’ North American presence to 20,000 employees across over 240 locations.
Ceva Logistics currently operates about 150 warehouses in North America. The acquisition follows CMA CGM’s strategy to diversify beyond ocean shipping, including launching its own cargo airline. The deal also includes commercial agreements for air and ocean freight between the companies.
Post-acquisition, CMA CGM will become a preferred ocean carrier for FedEx under a non-exclusive agreement. The companies will collaborate on air cargo capacity solutions to enhance global networks and aircraft utilization.
