U.S. stock index futures edged higher early Tuesday, with Dow Jones futures up 39 points (0.1%), S&P 500 futures rising 7 points (0.1%), and Nasdaq 100 futures gaining 67 points (0.2%). The gains follow a rebound in technology shares on Monday, which helped the S&P 500 end a five-session losing streak.
Investors are focused on potential U.S.-Iran talks in Qatar and key economic data releases. Nike’s quarterly results and a Supreme Court ruling allowing Fed Governor Lisa Cook to remain in office also supported sentiment. The S&P 500 is on track for its strongest quarterly performance since the post-pandemic recovery.
A semiconductor index rose 3.8%, recovering from its weakest weekly performance since April 2023. The sector had been pressured by concerns over AI infrastructure spending sustainability.
