Schneider National (NYSE: SNDR) announced leadership changes as part of a planned transition, naming Jim Filter as its new president and CEO. Filter, previously executive vice president and president of transportation and logistics, will succeed Mark Rourke, who becomes executive chairman on Wednesday.

The company also appointed Michael Baumgardt as executive vice president of intermodal and logistics, and Steve Wells as executive vice president of the truckload unit. Schneider’s intermodal and logistics segments generated $2.4 billion in revenue over the last 12 months, while its truckload business contributed $2.5 billion.

Filter, a 27-year company veteran, and Wells, who joined via the Cowan Systems acquisition, will lead key divisions as Schneider restructures its leadership.
