David Zaslav’s compensation ranks eighth among U.S. public company CEOs, reflecting high pay amid industry consolidation and economic challenges.
Warner Bros. Discovery CEO David Zaslav received a $165 million compensation package in 2025, making him the eighth-highest-paid chief executive among large U.S. public companies. The package includes stock options, salary, bonuses, and other perks, according to data from research firm Equilar.
Zaslav’s pay was more than three times his 2024 earnings and positioned him as the only Hollywood executive in the top 10. Tech CEOs dominated the list, with Tesla’s Elon Musk topping it at nearly $132.3 billion, while Rivian’s RJ Scaringe ranked fifth with $402.6 million.
The compensation reflects broader trends of rising executive pay amid economic uncertainty, inflation fears, and industry consolidation. Companies are increasingly rewarding leaders for navigating complex business environments.
