SpaceX’s upcoming Nasdaq-100 inclusion follows its $85.7 billion IPO, the largest ever, as index rule changes fast-track its entry.
SpaceX will join the Nasdaq-100 on July 7 after raising $85.7 billion in its June IPO, nearly triple Saudi Aramco’s 2019 record. The debut marked the largest public offering in history, capping a month of record highs for the Dow Jones, S&P 500, and Nasdaq.
Nasdaq’s rule changes, effective May 1, waived the low float requirement and allowed fast-track inclusion for non-financial companies ranking among the index’s top 40. SpaceX, now valued at $2 trillion, qualifies after 15 trading days, accelerated by market holidays.
The move reflects broader shifts in index methodology, including the Russell Indexes’ shortened inclusion timeline for large-cap stocks. SpaceX’s entry underscores its dominance in AI and space economies.
