DexCom expands its glucose biosensor use to non-insulin-dependent children aged 2+, aiming to broaden market access starting July.

DexCom (NASDAQ:DXCM) received FDA clearance to extend its Stelo Glucose Biosensor to children aged 2 and older who do not use insulin. The move targets a growing demographic affected by Type 2 diabetes and related health issues, enabling prescription-free blood sugar tracking for families.

The company plans to launch a redesigned Stelo app in the U.S. in July for iPhone and Android users, offering simplified glucose insights tied to daily activities. International expansion into the U.K., Australia, New Zealand, and South Korea is slated for later this year and into 2027.

DexCom’s CEO emphasized the broader relevance of glucose monitoring, positioning the product as a preventive care tool. The expansion follows rising diabetes prevalence among younger populations, addressing unmet demand in non-insulin-dependent users.
