Barclays highlights three stocks poised to benefit from Nvidia’s 2027 rollout of 800-volt direct current data centers.

Nvidia is spearheading a transition to 800-volt direct current (VDC) data centers, set to launch in 2027. The new architecture will replace the current 72-GPU design with a 576-GPU system, reducing power conversion steps and saving space in IT racks.

The shift involves converting 13.8 kV alternating current from the grid directly to 800V, then distributing it to power shelves for GPU use. This eliminates bulky AC-to-DC converters, improving efficiency compared to legacy data centers.

Barclays analyst Julian Mitchell identified three stocks with strong exposure to the 800 VDC transition, including Vertiv (VRT), citing its collaboration with Nvidia on power architecture development.
