AtaiBeckley Inc. (NASDAQ:ATAI, XETRA:9VC) announced on Thursday that it will be added to the Russell 2000 Index and the Russell 3000 Index, effective at the open of US markets on June 29, as part of the 2026 Russell indexes reconstitution.
The clinical-stage biotechnology company said the inclusion broadens its exposure to institutional investors and index-tracking funds
According to FTSE Russell, approximately $12.2 trillion in assets are benchmarked against the Russell US indexes. The Russell 2000 tracks the performance of roughly 2,000 small-cap US companies, while the Russell 3000 covers about 3,000 large-, mid-, and small-cap stocks and is designed to represent approximately 98% of the investable US equity market by capitalization. “Joining the Russell Indexes – which collectively benchmark approximately $12.2 trillion in assets – represents another meaningful milestone for AtaiBeckley as we continue to expand our presence across the US equity benchmark landscape, and increase visibility with a broad base of institutional investors,” AtaiBeckley CEO and co-founder Srinivas Rao said in a statement. Rao added that the inclusion comes as the company advances its Phase 3 study of BPL-003, a candidate treatment in its late-stage mental health pipeline.
Membership in the Russell indexes is determined primarily by objective market-capitalization rankings and style characteristics. The announcement follows AtaiBeckley’s inclusion in the S&P Total Market Index, S&P Completion Index and CRSP US benchmark indexes in March 2026
