T1 Energy (NYSE:TE), a U.S. solar manufacturer, has drawn a $43,900,000 investment from Leopold Aschenbrenner’s Situational Awareness fund. The company is expanding its domestic solar supply chain, positioning itself to benefit from federal clean energy tax credits that favor U.S.-made equipment over foreign alternatives, particularly from China.

The firm’s focus on utility-scale solar aligns with rising electricity demand from AI data centers. The EIA projects Texas’s ERCOT grid will generate 78 billion kWh from utility-scale solar this year, surpassing coal, and reach 99 billion kWh by 2027. T1’s Texas-based manufacturing sites could capitalize on this growth.

Short sellers, including Fuzzy Panda Research, have targeted the stock, alleging undisclosed China ties and potential risks. The allegations contrast with T1’s push for a fully domestic supply chain.
