The deal enables Nissan electric vehicles to feed power back to grids, reducing costs and supporting renewable energy integration.
Nissan and Valeo have signed an agreement to commercialize bidirectional charging stations across Europe, starting in the UK. The technology allows Nissan electric vehicles to return stored energy to the grid, turning them into flexible energy assets for both mobility and grid services.
The partnership introduces Valeo’s bidirectional and unidirectional AC charging stations, compliant with UK smart charging standards. Customers can lower energy costs by charging during off-peak hours and using vehicle power during peak pricing or for solar-generated electricity.
The rollout will begin in the UK before expanding to other European markets, aligning with Nissan’s vehicle-to-grid (V2G) roadmap. The initiative aims to enhance grid stability and support renewable energy adoption.
