Billionaire fund manager Ron Baron invested an additional $1 billion in SpaceX during its June 12 IPO, expanding his firm’s already substantial stake. The offering raised $85.7 billion after underwriters exercised their greenshoe option, making it the largest IPO in history—nearly triple the next biggest raise.

Baron Capital had previously invested close to $2 billion in SpaceX across 27 private funding rounds since 2017. The firm’s total stake is now valued at over $25 billion, representing its largest position out of $65 billion in assets under management. Baron has publicly predicted SpaceX could reach a $10 trillion to $30 trillion valuation within 15 years.

SpaceX sold 556 million shares at $135 each, reflecting strong investor demand for the aerospace and satellite communications company. The IPO’s scale underscores growing market confidence in SpaceX’s long-term growth prospects.
