Bitcoin opened at $66,667.61 on Wednesday, down 6.5% from Tuesday’s level, marking its lowest opening price since March 30. Ethereum followed, starting the day at $1,857.33, a 7.3% decline and its lowest opening since late February.

Both cryptocurrencies extended losses from recent weeks, with Bitcoin down 12.1% over the past seven days and 15.2% over the past month. Ethereum fell 10.3% week-over-week and 19.8% month-over-month. Year-over-year declines stand at 37% for Bitcoin and 28.8% for Ethereum.

The sell-off coincides with record outflows from Bitcoin exchange-traded funds and broader risk aversion in digital asset markets. Bitcoin’s all-time high remains $126,198.07, reached in October 2025, while Ethereum’s peak was $4,953.73 in November 2021.
