Gold (GC=F) August futures opened at $4,515.80 per troy ounce on Tuesday, up 0.2% from Monday’s closing price.
The price of gold moved higher this morning, shifting to $4,558.10 per troy ounce as of 8:08 a.m
ET. Over the last couple of weeks, gold prices have remained steady amid daily developments out of the Middle East. More recently, the markets have been in a holding pattern, hopeful that the latest rounds of negotiations between the U.S. and Iran will yield tangible improvements, namely the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz and at least a semi-permanent ceasefire.
