Duquesne Family Office slashed its Amazon holdings and initiated a new position in Intel during Q1 2026.
Billionaire investor Stanley Druckenmiller reduced his fund’s Amazon stake by 94% in the March-ended quarter, selling 692,140 shares. The move follows a period of accumulation, with Druckenmiller purchasing over 737,000 shares in the final two quarters of 2025.
Amazon, once the fund’s seventh-largest holding, saw its share price decline from a range of $225-$240 in late 2025 to around $200 in Q1 2026. The sell-off coincided with broader market volatility driven by geopolitical tensions.
Simultaneously, Druckenmiller initiated a new position in Intel, marking his first investment in the chipmaker in eight years. The move aligns with recent Wall Street interest in semiconductor stocks.
