General Dynamics and Kodiak AI expand collaboration to integrate AI-driven autonomy into defense ground platforms for US and international markets.

General Dynamics (NYSE:GD) has partnered with Kodiak AI to accelerate the development of autonomous ground vehicles for defense applications. The collaboration combines Kodiak’s AI-powered virtual driver technology with General Dynamics Land Systems’ ruggedized platform capabilities, focusing on commercially inspired platforms adaptable for military use.

The companies previously worked together on the Leonidas Autonomous Ground Vehicle, a modified Ford F-600 truck used for counter-drone operations. This partnership aligns with the Pentagon’s commercial-first strategy, aiming to reduce acquisition costs and speed deployment timelines. General Dynamics will handle vehicle integration, power systems, and communications.

The agreement opens opportunities with the US Army and international defense markets. General Dynamics, a major US government contractor, manufactures armored vehicles, nuclear submarines, and IT systems for defense applications.
