Starbucks will cut 61 technology positions at its Seattle headquarters as part of a restructuring within its tech division. The reductions affect roles including cybersecurity analysts, architects, and technical product managers, spanning both director and manager levels. Separations begin June 20 and are expected to finish by August 28, according to a state filing.

The job cuts are unrelated to a previously announced plan to relocate some technology roles to Nashville, where Starbucks is investing $100 million to open a new corporate office. The company aims to employ up to 2,000 workers in Nashville over five years, housing functions previously based in Seattle. Seattle remains the company’s North America and global headquarters.

The reorganization follows a leadership change in Starbucks’ tech organization, with Anand Varadarajan, a former Amazon executive, taking a key role. The filing indicates the cuts are not due to relocation or outsourcing.
