The New Zealand Dollar (NZD) trades at 0.5940 against the US Dollar (USD) on Tuesday, consolidating recent gains as broader risk sentiment improves. Reports of a potential US-Iran ceasefire have lifted market mood, benefiting risk-sensitive currencies like the Kiwi, though confirmation remains pending.

A firmer USD, driven by anticipation of the Jackson Hole Symposium, is limiting further NZD advances. US Initial Jobless Claims data, expected at 208K, could influence Dollar demand, with a stronger print or hawkish Fed signals potentially pressuring NZD/USD. Domestically, New Zealand’s ANZ-Roy Morgan Consumer Confidence survey for August may reinforce the Kiwi’s resilience if sentiment improves from July’s 99.3 reading.

Technically, NZD/USD holds between key moving averages, with the 100-period SMA at 0.5905 supporting and the 20-period SMA at 0.5962 capping gains. The RSI at 46 suggests fading momentum, keeping the near-term outlook cautiously bearish.
