USD1, the sixth-largest stablecoin with a $4.05 billion market cap, enables institutional settlement of tokenized assets on Canton.
World Liberty Financial has launched its USD1 stablecoin natively on the Canton Network, allowing institutions to settle transactions involving tokenized real-world assets. The stablecoin, with a $4.05 billion market capitalization, ranks as the sixth-largest in the sector and supports use cases like derivatives collateral and institutional lending.
USD1 debuted in March 2025 and is backed by reserves including short-term US Treasurys and government money market funds. The Canton Network, designed for institutional finance, processes over $9 trillion in tokenized assets monthly, with $350 billion in onchain US Treasurys moving daily.
Native issuance on Canton enables USD1 to settle alongside tokenized assets in a single transaction, leveraging the network’s privacy and permissioning controls. The stablecoin is issued by BitGo Bank & Trust, which manages its reserves and processes mints and redemptions.
