ZCSH becomes the first exchange-traded product offering spot Zcash exposure, trading after a critical vulnerability was patched.
Grayscale launched its Zcash Exchange-Traded Fund (ZCSH) on NYSE Arca Tuesday, providing investors with spot exposure to ZEC without direct ownership. The product, originally a trust since 2017, converted to an ETF after SEC approval in November.
The fund tracks Zcash, a privacy-focused cryptocurrency with a nine-year history and a monetary design derived from Bitcoin. Grayscale cited growing investor demand for digital assets beyond Bitcoin and Ethereum as a key driver for the listing.
ZCSH began trading following the resolution of a critical vulnerability in Zcash’s shielded transaction system, disclosed and patched by developers earlier this year. The ETF holds ZEC but issues shares to investors, reflecting the token’s value.
