The US Dollar (USD) edged higher early Tuesday, recovering from Monday’s modest losses as investors monitored escalating tensions in the Middle East. The USD Index traded marginally above 99.00 in European hours, supported by safe-haven demand amid fresh US sanctions on Iran and ongoing diplomatic developments between Iran and Pakistan.

Markets await mid-tier US economic data, including the August Consumer Confidence Index and July New Home Sales, though geopolitical risks remain the primary focus. The US Treasury imposed sanctions on 60 individuals, entities, and vessels linked to Iran, warning of potential penalties for countries maintaining business ties with Tehran.

US stock index futures rose 0.2% to 0.5%, reflecting cautious optimism despite the geopolitical backdrop. The Dollar’s resilience follows a shift in positioning, with options markets adjusting to the currency’s recent strength.
