US equities finished mixed as a broad selloff in semiconductor and AI stocks weighed on technology shares. The Nasdaq composite fell 200.26 points, or 0.76%, to 25,980.19, while the S&P 500 declined 0.28% to 7,652.96. The Dow industrials bucked the trend, rising 140.03 points, or 0.26%, to 53,422.35.

Memory and storage companies led losses, with SanDisk down 6.45% and Micron falling 5.83%. AI chipmakers, data-center connectivity firms, and optical-networking suppliers also saw sharp declines, signaling a pullback in the AI infrastructure trade. The VanEck Semiconductor ETF dropped 2.43%, reflecting broader weakness in the sector.

Outside tech, consumer, retail, payments, and defensive stocks showed resilience. The Russell 2000 declined 0.76%, closing at 2,995.08, as smaller-cap shares mirrored the tech-led downturn.
