U.S. spot Bitcoin and Ethereum ETFs recorded $2.6 billion in net inflows for the week ending August 21, the strongest since October 2025. Total assets under management jumped $23 billion, driven largely by price appreciation rather than new investments.

Bitcoin ETF assets rose 25.4% to $96.1 billion, while Ethereum ETF assets climbed 35.9% to $14.3 billion. Bitcoin and Ethereum prices surged 24% and 30%, respectively, following a Treasury bond-buyback expansion and a short squeeze that erased bearish bets.

The $2.6 billion in new money accounted for only a fraction of the $23 billion AUM growth, with the remainder attributed to rising crypto valuations. Spot Bitcoin ETFs added $1.92 billion in inflows, while Ethereum funds took in $697.2 million.
