China’s Ganfeng Lithium finalizes a joint venture with Lithium Argentina, investing $180M in Argentina’s Pozuelos-Pastos Grandes projects.
Lithium Argentina (LAR) announced a definitive agreement with Ganfeng Lithium (GNENY) to form a joint venture consolidating the Pozuelos-Pastos Grandes lithium projects in Argentina. The deal includes a $180M investment from Ganfeng, combining three adjacent projects under the new PPG JV.
Shares of Lithium Argentina rose 0.6% in pre-market trading Monday following the announcement. The agreement follows growing demand for lithium, driven by the global shift toward electric vehicles and renewable energy storage solutions.
The joint venture aims to accelerate development and production at the Pozuelos-Pastos Grandes site, a key lithium brine asset in Argentina’s lithium-rich triangle region.
