EQ Chartered Accountants, part of the Sumer Group, has merged with Innes & Partners, increasing its workforce by nearly 7% to 310 employees. The deal strengthens EQ’s presence in northern Scotland, adding offices in Inverness and Livingston while integrating Innes & Partners’ 20-person team into Sumer Group’s UK network of over 70 offices and 3,000 staff.
Innes & Partners serves private individuals, business owners, and non-profits, including charities and social enterprises. EQ stated the merger aligns with its growth strategy, while Innes & Partners’ clients gain access to Sumer Group’s broader audit, tax, and advisory services. Both firms emphasized continuity of local relationships and support for SMEs and community organizations.
Jonathan Innes, a director at Innes & Partners, will remain as a partner within the Inverness team. EQ confirmed existing sites in Inverness and Livingston will be retained, ensuring no disruption to client operations.
