Markets face a busy week with critical economic data and the Jackson Hole Symposium. Tuesday features Japan’s BoJ core CPI and U.S. consumer confidence, while Wednesday highlights Australia’s CPI and U.S. core PCE, GDP, and durable goods orders.

Australia’s July CPI is forecast at 0.9% month-on-month, rebounding from June’s -0.1%, with annual inflation expected at 3.3%, down from 3.8%. The trimmed mean CPI is projected at 0.3%. Last month’s data showed a second consecutive decline, though annual trimmed mean inflation rose to 3.6%.

The week concludes with Fed Chair Jerome Powell’s Jackson Hole speech and U.S. payroll revisions. Analysts cite fuel prices, wage increases, and travel demand as drivers of inflation pressures.
