UBS raises its S&P 500 2026 year-end forecast by 200 points, citing robust corporate earnings as the primary driver.
UBS Global Wealth Management increased its S&P 500 year-end 2026 target to 8,100 from 7,900, implying a 5.5% upside from the index’s August 21 close of 7,674.37. The firm also lifted its mid-2027 target to 8,400, reflecting a 9.5% gain from current levels.
The S&P 500 has risen 12.1% in 2026, outpacing its late-August 2025 performance, while the Nasdaq and Dow posted gains of 12.6% and 10.8%, respectively. Despite a losing week driven by higher Treasury yields and inflation concerns, UBS maintained a bullish stance, emphasizing strong earnings as the key catalyst.
The adjustment follows a period of market volatility, with AI stocks fluctuating despite solid corporate results. UBS described U.S. equities as “attractive,” signaling confidence in sustained momentum through year-end.
