The sale of 10,175 shares by Upstart’s CFO was automated to cover tax liabilities, not a discretionary move.

Upstart Holdings Inc. CFO Andrea Blankmeyer sold 10,175 shares on August 17 and 19 at a weighted average price of $29.35, totaling approximately $299,000. The transaction was non-discretionary, required to cover tax withholding obligations tied to restricted stock unit settlements.

Following the sale, Blankmeyer retains a direct stake of 152,208 shares, or 0.2% of the company’s outstanding shares. Upstart’s stock closed at $30.60 on August 19, down from a prior close of $29.11 on August 18, and has posted a -50% one-year total return.

The company recently returned to profitability, though the stock’s performance reflects broader market challenges in the fintech lending sector.
