China’s Commerce Ministry announced anti-dumping duties on polyoxymethylene imports from the US, EU, Taiwan, and Japan, set to take effect August 21. Rates range from 3.8% for Daicel HPP Taiwan to 35.5% for Daicel Corporation and Polyplastics Co., Ltd.
The move follows a review of dumping allegations, aiming to protect domestic producers. Polyplastics Taiwan faces a 32.6% duty, while other suppliers are subject to the highest rate. No prior tariffs were disclosed for comparison.
The AUD/USD pair edged 0.17% lower to 0.7112 amid the announcement, reflecting initial market sensitivity to trade policy shifts.
