USDU, the first UAE central bank-registered US dollar stablecoin, will be available for holding and transfers in Bitcoin.com’s self-custodial wallet.
Bitcoin.com has integrated USDU, a US dollar-backed stablecoin registered with the Central Bank of the UAE, into its self-custodial web and mobile wallet. The move expands access to the UAE’s first central bank-approved stablecoin beyond institutional channels, enabling users to hold, send, and receive the token.
USDU, issued by Abu Dhabi-based Universal Digital, is the only Foreign Payment Token registered under the UAE’s Payment Token Services Regulation. It launched in January and is also regulated by the Abu Dhabi Global Market’s Financial Services Regulatory Authority. Swap and trading features will be added later via third-party providers.
The integration follows USDU’s broader distribution push, including support from Zodia Custody in July. Bitcoin.com plans to accept USDU for services and facilitate merchant payments, though availability will vary by jurisdiction.
