Risen Energy and Ascania Energy have signed two memorandums of understanding (MoUs) to develop up to 100MW of solar power and 200MW-hours of battery energy storage projects in Ukraine.
The MoUs were formally signed by Risen Energy Europe president Jerry Qin and Ascania Energy CEO and co-owner Yevhen Piatko
Ascania Energy chief technology officer Yehor Yarmolenko also attended the event. The partnership aims to address Ukraine’s demand for new electricity generation and decentralised energy solutions. Pairing solar generation with battery storage adds distributed capacity, supports the integration of renewable energy and provides flexibility during periods when the electricity grid is constrained.
Ascania Energy is involved in various stages of the energy value chain in Ukraine, including direct energy supply, energy management, engineering, project development, system integration and trading. The company operates as part of Ascania Group, which has three decades of business experience in the country. Risen Energy offers photovoltaic (PV) modules, energy storage solutions, inverters and intelligent energy management services.
