Partnership targets 1 million daily drone deliveries by 2029 as Uber invests in Zipline, valued at $7.6 billion.
Uber Technologies and drone delivery firm Zipline announced a partnership to introduce autonomous drone deliveries for Uber Eats customers in the US. The collaboration includes a strategic investment by Uber in Zipline, though financial details remain undisclosed.
Zipline, valued at $7.6 billion after an $800 million funding round earlier this year, has completed 2 million deliveries globally. The companies aim to scale to 1 million daily drone deliveries by the end of 2029, starting with launches in existing US markets later this year.
The service will expand to additional cities and follows a similar partnership Uber formed with Flytrex in 2023. Zipline already works with Walmart and restaurant chains like Panera and Chipotle in the US.
