Cardbox Packaging has installed a new MK Duopress Power press at its Wolfsberg, Austria facility, increasing postpress capacity to up to 7,000 sheets per hour. The system combines hot foil stamping and die-cutting into a single line, aiming to eliminate bottlenecks in packaging production for luxury goods sectors such as cosmetics and spirits.

The investment follows persistent die-cutting constraints that had limited output. The upgraded model, developed by Heidelberg and MK Masterwork, features dual die-cutting stations for improved precision and stability. Cardbox was among the first users of the updated equipment, citing long-term collaboration with Heidelberg as a key factor in the decision.

The press is expected to support Cardbox’s operations across its five European and U.S. sites, where Heidelberg and MK Masterwork provide most postpress technology and support.
