Monthly ETF inflows exceed $100 billion for 14 straight months, a milestone previously reached only once in history.
Exchange-traded funds have recorded over $100 billion in net inflows for 14 consecutive months, a record streak that underscores their growing dominance in investor portfolios. The previous instance of a $100 billion monthly inflow occurred just once, roughly two-and-a-half years before the current run began.
Global ETF assets reached a record $23.08 trillion at the end of May, with $1.07 trillion in net inflows during the first five months of 2026. U.S. ETF assets alone stood at $15.6 trillion in May, up 42% year-over-year, spanning equity, bond, commodity, and active investment products.
The surge reflects broader adoption across asset classes, with crypto ETFs emerging as a key growth driver. Analysts predict U.S. spot Bitcoin ETFs could eventually hold three times the assets of gold ETFs within three to five years.
