World Liberty Financial postpones tokenized resort asset sale due to regional travel disruptions from the Iran war.
World Liberty Financial, a cryptocurrency venture linked to the Trump family, has delayed the sale of a token tied to a Maldives resort. The token, intended to represent revenue shares from loans financing the Trump-branded property, was set for a 2025 launch but has been postponed due to travel disruptions caused by the Iran conflict in the region.
The firm partnered with real-world asset platform Securitize in February to tokenize loan interests for the resort, enabling onchain trading. The delay reflects broader challenges in tokenizing real estate assets amid geopolitical instability. World Liberty Financial remains focused on expanding tokenization into commodities like oil and gas.
No new timeline for the token’s listing has been announced.
