Flywire has expanded its open banking payment capabilities in the US and Canada through a partnership with Trustly. The integration allows customers to authorize domestic and international transfers directly from their bank accounts using local currencies, eliminating the need for manual account details entry.
The service, previously available in Europe, now extends to North America, leveraging Trustly’s Pay by Bank solution. Users authenticate payments via their online banking portals, improving transaction accuracy and providing real-time visibility. Flywire and Trustly have collaborated since 2017, initially launching the service in Europe before gradual global expansion.
The companies stated the move aims to simplify payments and reduce errors by removing manual data entry. Flywire highlighted client demand for frictionless digital payment experiences, citing benefits like reduced failures and enhanced transparency.
