The biotech firm extends cash runway with $105 million nondilutive financing, avoiding near-term equity dilution.
Spero Therapeutics (SPRO) announced a $105 million royalty financing deal, extending its cash runway into the second half of 2029. The nondilutive, nonrecourse funding avoids shareholder dilution while supporting pipeline development.
The financing follows recent milestones, including FDA approval of Utebzi and the in-licensing of SP001. The company also repositioned its pipeline to focus on immune-mediated diseases during Q2 2026.
Management highlighted the deal as a strategic move to bolster financial flexibility without immediate equity fundraising.
