Major European indices close lower
European stocks ended the day in negative territory, with France’s CAC 40 leading the declines. The CAC 40 fell 0.46% to 8,674.95.
The German DAX declined 0.17% to 26,346.30, while the UK FTSE 100 slipped 0.10% to 10,833.16. In the European debt market, benchmark 10-year yields were mixed, with Germany, France, and Italy seeing lower yields, while UK and Spanish yields rose modestly.
Yields in Germany, France, and Italy fell by -0.4 basis points, -0.6 basis points, and -0.5 basis points, respectively. In contrast, UK and Spanish yields increased by +0.6 basis points and +0.4 basis points, respectively.
