The fintech firm will launch staged banking services in France after securing regulatory approval and committing €1bn to Western Europe.
Revolut has received a full banking license in France following a joint review by the ACPR and the European Central Bank. The approval follows a €1bn investment in Western Europe and plans to hire over 600 employees in the region by 2027.
The company serves 30 million customers in Western Europe, adding nearly 8 million in 2025. Revolut will introduce banking services in phases, starting in France, with Germany, Ireland, Italy, Portugal, and Spain to follow. Its Lithuanian unit will continue operating alongside the new Paris hub.
Revolut aims to tailor products to local markets through closer customer and business ties. The dual-hub structure remains under ECB and local regulatory oversight.
