The German steelmaker reported a pre-tax profit of €76 million despite lower revenue and cash flow from operations.
Salzgitter AG reported first-half GAAP earnings per share of €0.74 on revenue of €4.59 billion, a 1.5% decline year-over-year. The company achieved a pre-tax profit of €76 million, down from €84 million in the same period last year.
Cash flow from operating activities fell to €59 million from €81 million in the prior-year period. Working capital increased compared to the previous year, reflecting higher inventory levels or receivables.
The results highlight challenges in the steel sector amid fluctuating demand and input costs, though profitability remained positive.
