Babcock & Wilcox Enterprises reports $14.3 million net income for Q2, exceeding estimates and lifting full-year profitability forecasts.

Babcock & Wilcox Enterprises (BW) shares surged 38% in after-hours trading after reporting second-quarter net income of $14.3 million, or $0.07 per share. The results surpassed Wall Street expectations, driven by stronger revenue in its power-generation equipment segment.

The company also raised its 2026 profitability target, signaling confidence in sustained growth. Prior-year Q2 net income was not immediately comparable due to restructuring efforts, but consensus estimates had projected lower earnings for the quarter.

The earnings beat and upward revision to long-term guidance triggered the sharp share price increase in extended trading.
