The software firm sold 1,690 BTC to fund preferred stock buybacks amid a quarterly net loss of $8.22 billion.

MicroStrategy (MSTR) shares fell 0.46% to $99.20 after selling $108.6 million worth of Bitcoin between August 3 and 9. The company offloaded 1,690 BTC at an average price of $64,262, using proceeds to repurchase 1.15 million shares of its STRC preferred stock.

The sale follows a second-quarter report showing an $8.22 billion net loss, driven by an $8.32 billion unrealized loss on Bitcoin holdings. Revenue reached $122.4 million. This marks the second consecutive week of Bitcoin sales, with 1,638 BTC sold the prior week for $104.7 million.

Shares remain under pressure, trading far below the 52-week high of $414.36 despite a recent 3.26% gain. The company has shifted toward active capital management as Bitcoin trades below its October 2025 peak.
