Vistra reaffirms full-year outlook as generation and retail earnings drive quarterly growth amid record power demand.

Vistra reported second-quarter adjusted EBITDA of $1.767 billion, a 30% increase from $1.35 billion a year earlier. The gain was driven by higher generation earnings and retail strength, with the generation segment contributing $994 million, up from $593 million in the prior-year quarter.

The company cited favorable hedging activity and a 5% rise in average realized prices per megawatt-hour. Record summer peak loads in PJM and ERCOT, exceeding 168 gigawatts and 91 gigawatts respectively, underscored robust demand.

Vistra reaffirmed its full-year financial outlook and projected continued growth through 2030, citing industrial reshoring, electrification, and data center expansion as key drivers.
