Lockheed Martin posted Q2 2026 net earnings of $1.836 billion, a sharp rebound from a $1.6 billion loss in Q2 2025. The defense contractor attributed the turnaround to strong demand and improved program execution.

Net sales rose 11% year-over-year to $20.1 billion, while diluted earnings per share climbed to $7.94 from $1.46. Free cash flow reached $2.9 billion, compared to a negative $150 million in the prior-year quarter. Operating profit surged 279% to $2.162 billion, driven by the Missiles and Fire Control segment, which saw sales rise 19% to $4.1 billion.

The results reflect broader defense sector tailwinds, including reshoring initiatives and increased government spending. Analysts noted the quarter marked a historic shift in Lockheed’s financial performance.
