Italian automotive supplier Sila Group’s owner plans a merger expected to generate over €220m in revenue and employ 2,500 globally.
Brepafin, the holding company behind Italian automotive supplier Sila Group, will acquire Vimercati Group through a two-phase process starting with a lease arrangement and culminating in a full merger. The combined entity is projected to generate revenues exceeding €220m ($253.5m) and employ around 400 people in Italy and over 2,100 worldwide.
Vimercati Group, owned by India’s Viney Corporation since 2015, specializes in automotive switches and assemblies, with a workforce of over 800 across Italy and Romania. The company will rebrand as NextHMI following the transaction, which aims to bolster competitiveness in the automotive components sector.
Sila Group, founded in 1943, produces gearshift control systems and flexible cables. The merger reflects ongoing consolidation trends among Italian automotive suppliers amid challenging market conditions.
