The Senate Banking Committee chair confirms a vote on the Digital Asset Market Clarity Act this week, requiring 60 votes to advance.

The US Senate will vote on the Digital Asset Market Clarity (CLARITY) Act before adjourning for its August recess, Senate Banking Committee Chair Tim Scott said. The bill aims to establish regulatory clarity for digital asset markets but faces a tight timeline, with lawmakers set to leave Washington in days.

Scott stated that Senate Majority Leader John Thune has sufficient time to schedule a cloture vote, which would require 60 senators’ support to proceed. The bill has drawn bipartisan attention, though Democrats have raised concerns over licensing provisions and President Trump’s crypto holdings. Industry groups have also pushed for adjustments.

If passed, the CLARITY Act would mark the first major Senate vote on crypto regulation, potentially shaping future legislative efforts in the sector.
